Its been an exciting week for Saturna.  All this week, Just For Thrills has been charting on Elbo.ws, reaching as high as #17 on the Top 50 Songs chart.

Instrumental Analysis, announced the winners of our contest from last week’s Midweek Mutiny and they were Francis from Brooklyn and Snow from Seattle.  Francis, watch the mail for your CD and Snow, you’ll have to come down to Portland to recieve your prize from the Magic Garden!

Steve and I will be glowing next week as we head back to rehearsal for our upcoming tour, from a nice relaxing week in Hawaii.  We’ll be heading to Kauai for our friend Doug (of The Silver Surfer) and Danielle’s wedding.  Here come the howlies!  I scored an awesome vintage Hawaiian shirt from Goodwill for $7 for the wedding and I’ll post some pics next week.  Aloha.

We were proud to be able to help out our new friend Sara while she recovered from a severely broken leg.  She said it was a nightmare, but luckily listening to songs from Saturna’s “…All Night” while she struggled through physical therapy helped.  Get well soon, Sara!

Thanks to Arcfire from Buscando Bajo, in Valencia Spain, for posting a shout-out to Saturna.  She also writes a blog called Una Piel de Astracán that’s worth checking out.

If you haven’t checked out Indiependent Music yet, you’ll find tons of news and reviews of indie and punk rock bands.  They recently announced the release of our second single “Just For Thrills” with the headline “Saturna is on the Rise”.

God Is In The TV, a webazine from England just gave “…All Night” an amazing review with 4 out of 5 stars, calling it “beautiful work.”  Mike Mantin describes Springboard as a, “Gorgeous instrumental opener which climaxes in a glorious explosion of noise worthy of Mogwai.”  He goes on to describe the rest of the record, “with ‘Pop Rocks’ finding the band demonstrating their ability to write a catchy, radio-friendly chorus, and the sublime ‘Blanket Of Stars’ burning slowly but dramatically into a solo-laden epic.”
